‘VAIN TRIFLES AS THEY SEEM, CLOTHES HAVE, THEY SAY, MORE IMPORTANT OFFICES THAN TO MERELY KEEP US WARM.  THEY CHANGE OUR VIEW OF THE WORLD AND THE WORLD'S VIEW OF US' -Virginia Woolf

THE BUSINESS

Established in 2001, E M M A J A N E    K N I G H T   is a contemporary, British, sustainable, slow fashion, quiet luxury, cashmere brand with international appeal for those who value innovative yet timeless, top-quality designs, made with integrity, a sense of practicality and longevity in mind.  The concept is ‘Less is More’.  Each piece is finished in classic and stunning seasonal colours with a unique twist that sets them apart from mainstream knitwear.   The pieces have been so cleverly designed they don’t lose their shape or appeal, even after 20 years in your wardrobe.

Our aim is to provide time-short, discerning, women, who invest in their lifestyle and appearance, with capsule cashmere collections to cover a variety of outfits and occasions.  They may be worn again and again in different combinations with on-trend accessories.  The outfits take you from day to evening and pack neatly into a carry-on suitcase.  No ironing is needed … travelling in effortless style couldn’t be easier!

We employ local, skilled, artisans and manufacturer the collections in Italy, using 100% cashmere by Cariaggi, a top quality Italian yarn spinner; in UK, using 100% cashmere yarn from Scotland by Todd and Duncan, a B Corp certified yarn spinner; and in Mongolia, using ECO and 100% cashmere certified by Sustainable Fiber Alliance (SFA) and Oeko TEX.

CHARITY

In collaboration with talented wildlife artist, Rose Corcoran, EmmaJane created a Scarf-Sarong Collection, made using the most exquisitely fine LENZING™ certified modal-cashmere fabric in Como, Italy.    They look elegantly warm around a woman’s neck in the cold and stunning tied as a sarong in the heat.  A portion of our proceeds goes to support The Whitley Fund for Nature's wildlife conservation work, a cause close to EmmaJane’s heart.  The Princess Royal is Patron.

“WFN is a very special organisation.  It’s small.  It’s very precisely focused … and so it is able to give its money where it really counts; where every penny counts”.  Sir David Attenborough,,WFN Trustee.

TESTIMONIALS

‘You certainly have incredible 'understated' good-taste, style, and flair - - it shows in everything you do, in the design of your knitwear, your website, your logo, and in the models and backdrops you use’.

And your style permeates consistently – which is seldom the case with others.
Stuart C (Accentura Lead)

“I absolutely love the cashmere jackets and sweaters I’ve bought from you over the years.  I wear them at least 3 to 4 times a week in the winter, they’ve worn so well and they still look amazing!”  Perdita Fraser (Chair, National Numeracy at Digital Catapult)

“The only time anyone ever comments on my clothes is when I am wearing one of your cashmere sweaters.”  Sarah S

‘Darling I am wearing for the first time your grey cardigan and I feel like a million dollars.  Ty so much, you have a magical touch x  Chiara, House of Medici.
